fuel mileage

I hit 18.5 once, not sure what made it better that one time.

This weekend, I was riding on some super smooth trails and kept the throttle steady, about 45-50 mph most of the time. This was my best chance to hit 20 mpg, I thought. 17.5 once again, just like almost every other time.

Rough riding with lots of stops drops me down to 15-16. 12 mpg...never got anywhere near that low.

Gas mileage

I know that my attack is significantly better than all two stroke comaparison sleds. Therefore I just fill the tank and ride! :yam:

after 1300 miles in six days I was getting my but kicked big time by both a 600HO and a mach Z. I was using 4 to 7 more liters every tank full. My buddies ate stake every night telling me to have a burger with the money I had left after filling up, I was very dissapointed. My vecter from last year was always close to my buddies and I thought that with the efi I would at least be close again if not better, but they had a good laugh evey time we filled up. I also broke the wire on the shock so the doo guys were not very impressed. I hope someone comes out with a chip to improve the full milage.

When their motor explodes, you can go buy a whole cow at Angus and buy them a hamburger with the leftovers...

1-2 gallons more than a carbed Doo? Were you towing someone or riding with the brake on? :ORC

Ihave to admit the 600 did blow last year on one of our trips and on the other one the injectors blocked up with dirt so we had to tow it in. I did screw up when I said 600 HO, the sled is sdi for sure. The mach has 4000 miles on it with only a couple fouled plugs as far as problems. My Gt was by far the best riding machine in the group before the electronic shock gave out.

Ya my buddys Gt just blew his ele. shock apart last weekend riding togeather and his sled looked like a buckboard when all he had was the spring,as for milage well we ride very hard 60-110 mph whenever we can and we both get 10-12 at best and new they got 14 but his has issues, when he goes wfo out on the lake he shoots 3 foot flames, its funny, sort of looks like a circus act he he heck i thought he was on fire at night,so he may have an injector problem, bur both of our run 114-115 gps in the trails on very hard pack snow/ice when some guys complain they cant even get there apex to go that speed on there dreameter.

gt man, you forgot about your buddies adding that cheap synthetic that their dealers give them for free, right? as for the cow joke, thats a classic, good one rash.

If your gas mileage is as bad as you say there is something wrong with your sled. My friend and I both ride Attaks, no mods and no studs.

Easy trail riding 20 miles / imp gallon

Aggressive 17 miles/ imp gallon

My friend's SDI 600 consistently gets 19 mpg. I have a hard time believing the 1000 SDI gets anywhere near that, as someone posted. 15 mpg sounds about right for that hog. A guy I know said the best he ever recorded was 16, and typically 13-14 is all he gets.

Carbed vs. SDI...drop 5 mpg with carbs. Huge difference. However, the carbed engines last longer because they don't run so lean.

I just got back from a 750 mile 3 day saddlebag trip with my buddies. I have a 06' Attak and my 2 buds have a 05 RX-1 and a 06' Apex ER. The RX-1 on average is consistantly 2-3 mpg better than the Apex and Attak. My Attak has been anywhere between 12.5 to 15.5 mpg.

Last three tanks frome were 14, 15 and 15 for mileage. I am ~190-200 with gear and ride reasonably aggressive trail. I am happy after coming from two strokes getting 10-12 best case.

Apex is getting between 14.5 and 15.5. I had about 120 miles between gas stops and took 8.5 gallons on one ride. Thinking I can get 150 miles on full tank of 10 gallon. Fuel light came on at about 110 miles which got me excited because we hadn"t seen a gas station during this time. My wife's Vector is getting 17.5 to 18.5 mpg. She always takes a couple gallons less then mine.
