Just getting my sled fuelled up for tomorrow's maiden voyage with my nytro and I topped the fuel right up to the rim of the gas tank, then the fuel level would gurgle down an inch or so and I would add a little more (I know the tanks are small so I wanted every last drop) after repeating this process a few times I put gas cap back on sled and about a second or two later I noticed a liquid pouring out from under where the secondary/running board area. I let it drip in my finger and sure enough it was gas! Is this normal? Just an overflow? The sled was in the trailer and it's late so I didn't pull the side panel to investigate, as it stopped after a second or two.

It's normal when you fill it right up to the top like that.it is an overflow. If it happens again, If you open up the fuel cap again it will stop dripping.

Ok, thanks fella's.

When I bought my last sled (2007 mxz) the rubber grommet was rotten coming out of the bottom of they tank, just making sure I wasn't having that happen again.

Go buy a check valve it's like 5 bucks I put one in mine so she can draw air but can't push back the only down fall is if u put her in the warm u have to slacken the gas cover so the tank can expand and not be full of pressure

I tried running a longer vent line last year and extended it until it came up to the steering post. Thought it was going to work because that is where a lot of older sleds vented their gas tanks. Left the shop and come back 1 hour later and the garage was stunk up with gas. Not pouring out because I had only a half tank.

Don't know why it stinks so much when it is there but in the foot well you don't smell it unless you are right beside it. So I just live with 1 liter less fuel if even that much. Can't remember how much more you can get in with the white collar out.

I was out today and in 2' of snow, sinking at least a foot I got 14-15 US MPG on my nytro. Not bad IMO for the conditions
