I am trying to get all the fuel system stuff together for my turbo build.
I already have a Walbro fuel pump. So I should be good there. Now what to do for injectors and fuel regulator. I am planning on running up to 15-18psi eventually(probably only around 10psi to start with).
Originally I was just planning on running the stock injectors for now seeing how much I can get out of them. The more I think about it though I'm thinkin I should just upgrade right away.
Who sells bigger injectors for the Apex and how much are they?what size? what size will I need for the boost I'm planning to run? Will the stock regulator we sufficient? I can't see why it wouldn't be if I'm running the bigger injectors. The stock reg has vac referance so it should raise pressure 1:1 as intake pressure rises.
I'm gonna be running a PC3 + all the add-on's to control things.

Matt,
I run a Walbro pump, supplimental inline, with the stock injectors and FPR to 22 lbs boost. I run 12 lbs on pump gas on the trail.
If you choose to go with bigger injectors, you are going to need to use a RB3 or comparable controller that can remove fuel where you need to, as the maps are going to be very different then with stock injectors. I am not sure if the PC3 can do that, I am not familiar with it enough.
Hurricane Dave, PowderLites Dave, Ted Jannetty, and other TY site sponsors can hook you up with what you need to do that.

Can you adjust fuel at vacuum for larger injectors with the Pc3?

We resize the Apex injectors for all boosted applications.Resizing the Apex injectors puts the duty cycle back where it belongs. The cost is only $50per injector

You can adjust fuel +/- 100% based on throttle % and also +/-50% on top of that based on boost.
I am going to run the PC3(or possibly PCV) w/ timing control, LCD screen, multi func. hub, map sensor, and wideband commander.
The cool thing about the PC with the LCD screen is you can make minor map adjustments right on the LCD screen without needing a laptop. Also the LCD screen also acts as a gauge cluster as well, displaying boost, A/F ration, RPM, duty cycle, % adjustment, etc. anything I want it to. This also gives you datalogging capabilities as well, and if you use the PCV you can get autotune.
Basically it does everything the Rapid Bike does and more.
The nice thing about the larger injectors is that it actually lets you use more of the band that you can adjust the Power Commander. With stock injectors you really only use the 0% to +100% side of the adjustment. With larger injectors you have to scale things down so you get to use the negative side of the scale as well, probably gives you another 50% range to adjust. That's important, especially for boost since you normally just get 50%.
I know they are many more people using the Rapid Bike than the PC, but I really think the PC is the way to go. If not I guess I'll learn the hard way. You search around the bike boards and guys really don't have many problems with them and they work for boost really well.
Allen Ulmer has been extremely helpful about all my Power Commander ????'s and that's were I will be purchasing it from.

Its good your checking in other performance worlds for tech info as I have found I can learn about tech that is 10+ years old and just starting to make its way into the sledding world. bike technology is a lot farther ahead, its nice to have people that have run the stuff and have good info on it.
sounds like your gonna have a fun little buggy when your done.. and its always fun to have something you built yourself.

Has anyone had any problems with Hurricane resized injectors?
Hurricane is saying 560cc's are what I need, and I agree, that's a good size for the power I'm looking for. Any problems getting them to idle?
I see a lot of guys using aftermarket fpr's, what's the reasoning?Just adjustability or do they like running a 2:1 or higher rising rate reg.? Why not keep the stock fpr? Is there problems with it?
