Does yours have reverse or not?





mmv mine has reverse, i think the dry weight is right on. you have to remember dry weight is with no tools fluid belt battery shock oil chain case oil, ect. i think yamahas dry weight is exactly what they said, im lucky im a welder by trade and can see all kinds of things i can build out of titanium for this unit, and im confident that i will have it down to no more then 575 wet with day bag shovel and lunch, i think its going to be a real good snowmobile

MTX w/o reverse was 618 full of gas and all fluids.

the exact weight out of the box with everything that was in the box layed on the sled while being weighed is 582.6 pounds.

Now that is the only true method of weighing a sled, the way it comes out of the crate, before any fluids are added.

This should become the standard method for determining sled weights and put an end to the bullpoop once and for all.

Kudos to ou812 for the best sled weight related post I've seen in any forum.

As someone else said Yammy ships sleds with SOME fuel in them, there was a considerable diferrence in how much fuel were in the two of mine. I don't agee that weighing them out of the crate is the best way. Do you ride yours in that condition? I don't. I ride mine fuel of fuel. I think completely full of all fluids is the proper way to weigh them.

Just for clarification - I have NO IDEA about the validity of either of these weights - just passing on what I have run across. It will be interesting to see which is which but since I have no intent of ever weighing my sled, I guess I'll just ride it

08Nitro - Thanks for posting that fuel information. It will be interesting to see the range on this sled in 2 feet of fresh at 10,000 feet. I think I'll carry extra gas for the first few rides - just to be safe

I agree with Ray. You don't ride the sled with the fuel level you get out of the crate. So, why should this be the proper way to measure a sleds weight? Full of fluids is a true comparison. If a sled has a 13 gal tank and needs all of it to travel as far as a sled with a 10 gal tank they should get the penalty of the extra weight caused by said extra fuel to make them full. JMHO

I agree I don't ride my sled empty. I want to know the weight it will feel when I am throwing it around.

I picked mine up this past Tuesday. Oddly enough, my tank came a spit less than completely FULL.

As far as weights go - I can dead lift the front end of the Nytro with noticably less effort than my mod'd '99 MM. It sure is going to be a fun winter
