Anyone who rides Northern Ontario/Quebec trails knows the type of riding we do. Ho do you think the Nytro would be for these types of trails? We normally ride 300+ miles per day at higher speeds (60-WOT). Our group is exclusively 4-stroke Apex's with only 1 vector. The Vector often gets left behind on the long straights.

Think the Nytro is there???...the windshiled looks wayyyy too small for weather we get. I love the Nytro but I have a feeling it might be underpowered and under protected for our type of riding.

Thoughts?

That's hard to say. We ride the same kind of conditions as you and even the apex guys are cold. I REALLY like my RX-nytro conversion because it's warm and does 98% what an apex can do. Now, the new Nytro is awesome but it's going to very cold when it's cold out. Power wise it should be right there with an RX...then there is the big fuel range debate. Someone with some miles will have to chime in and let you know how far one will go.

I traded an attak for a nytro. The apex/attak is 100% better for long hi-speed touring then the nytro esprecially for bigger/taller guys. For Quebec like trails get an apex or attak.

if you can find a windsheild with some protection it will be warm. gearing it up will help with the top speed problem. now for fuel range, thats the 64 dollar question. i think in that kind of riding you will get at least 120 miles to a tank, and if thats not enough, you can go with the larger aftermarket tank currently being built.

I do the same type riding as you. I only have a day and 1/2 on the sled about 230 miles so far. I have installed the tall windscreen and flares to help with wind protection. I had no problems being cold but the full day of riding was a warm day mid 20's, the half day was singal digits when I left the house it was -1. I had no problems was too hot on the full day I even had to take a layer off, on the have day I was warm and even had no problem with the hot grips and I only wear light gloves.

The gearing could be changed for higher speeds. I was in loose packed snow. It was not good for high speed runs I did see 95 on the speedo. I also check mpg once agian not good for high mileage but was getting mid 14 #'s.

Hey how do you like those simons skis on your nytro I was thinking of the same thing! My mpg with 250 miles was over 17 and I'm happy with that!

I only put the simmons on before my short sunday ride, I only did about 45 miles with the simmons on. I will say that it felt more stable with the simmons on. I have had the simmons for a number of years and have been switching the same pair onto my new sled every year.

I'm going up again this weekend so will have a better idea how they work on the FX after.

I like that idea, I liked the precisions, they IMO balanced the sled (rev) perfectly plus took some of the harshness out, if someone is gonna try them please let us know how they work.
