Is there any way to drill and tap the intercooler without losing fillings into it, without removing it from the sled??

Hey Dave are you gonna send us the updated intake stuff?????

Putting the fuel regulator boost line into the charge tube is easier and totally fail safe. I don't think there is a totally safe way to drill and tap the intercooler without taking it out of the sled...just my 02 cents

agreed.
I wouldn't risk it. Maybe next summer I'll pull and tap the intercooler, but the charge tube was easy for now and accomplishes the same thing.

Got the charge tube tapped, but don't really like it, mine's not welded yet. Was lookin for options on the intercooler, looks like this summer is the best bet.

thanks

I put it in the charge tube. Drilled and tapped it , then srewed the brass fitting in then devconed around the fitting on the inside of the charge tube to stop it from being spit out...........seemed to be more then strong enough till summer when I do the intercooler.

I made a weld bung out of 3/4" solid aluminum round stock (1/2" long) drilled it out and tapped it with a 1/8" NPT tap... then TIG welded it centered on the hole I drilled in the charge tube. It gave me more meat to thread the barbed fitting into. It may be overkill, but I'm an overkill kind of guy!!

jan 17 map???

Tried the Jan 17 map and replumb of the regulator line and still have a stumble and not holding boost. What is everyone runnin for fuel pressure on this map? I must have a boost leak somewhere, how soon should I be seeing the boost hit 10 lbs? It's not gettin there till WOT...?????

leak

checkin it out today, I'll let ya know. I can't wait to get this thing runnin right.

leak

Adjusted wastegate, that may have been most of the issue. Had to remove tightening turnbuckle nut in center and cut some of the bolt off, it was out of adjustment.

Also, plugged intake and exhaust and pressurized system, wastegate and boost controller seemed to be working correctly. It held pressure with everything plugged and slowly leaked it off, that seems to be normal I would think. What do you guys think?

NICE!

Well it seemed to be the adjustment on the wastegate, cause now that thing is flat scary, sweeeeet!!!

thanks Dave.

Powder Lites / Rapid Bike

Thanks guys and good to hear positive stuff about our kits. Bigger injectors will be mapped this weekend and a few other tricks. Let you guys know on monday how my weekend goes and how much boost we get.

PS: testing with SkiDoo 1200cc fourstroke so we will ride together and see how they compare. The race is on soon at Powder Lites !! LOL

What are most of you guys seeing for wastegate adjustment measurements?
I second that , I was out at the races today and tried turning the boost up but 11 pounds seemed to be all it would boost. I took the sled apart on the lake and everything seemed to be correctly hooked up but after looking at the boost controler again does the hose coming off the tee to the controller go to the port closest to the knob.?? Guess I'll also have to check wastgate rod. I should be looking for what in that respect??????
Other then that , handed out some pretty good beatings to a mc express turbo apex with a suposed 310 kit. The nytro even at 11 was impressive.

I had to crank up the wastegate rod quite a bit as well to get past 10 lbs and have the boost controller work. The acceleration factor goes through the roof!
