On my 05, the tach signal is only about 6 volts. On my digatron I had to use their voltage adapter as their was not enough voltage to charge the capacitors.

We wired a VDO tach to an rx one day (03) for testing. I wasn't referring to power,I was referring to tach pulse. The only place we could get consistent tach pulse was from the dominant cylinder,which is #4. Maybe you can get it somewhere else,I'm just telling you what we did.

So the wires goin to the coils only have a low ac voltage so that idea of powering the gtech from there is'nt a feasable altho I am sure that Helix is correct of it being the tach source. Wonder why G-Tech dosent have a tach wire input into the unit ....... ???Lots of RX-1s and R-1s runnin around I wonder if there is a solution to this problem somewhere?
