On my last couples rides the gas gauge goes down to empty twice as fast as it should. When the gauge shows empty, I still have half a tank of gas left. It just started doing this about 300 miles ago, and I have about 5,000 miles on the sled. Is it a bad fuel sensor? It still shows all the bars on the gauge when full. They just disapear alot faster. Anybody else have this problem?
The sending unit may be malfucntioning or the sled may need a reboot. I think you can reboot it by taking off the neg lead off the battery for at least 30 min. Put it back on and see what it reads.

Check in the tank and see if one of the fuel filters is caught on the float.
Well did it work?
