- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
Have a 2005 Vector with hooks added. What brands of gauntlets are people liking out there? Saw some Yami gauntlets on eBay but it said they were for a Venture. Aren't hooked handlebars....hooked handlebars?
Don't want wind deflector suggestions please! Have ordered a mega tall/mega wide windshield to take the place of my Venture size 17" w/shield. I don't care how I look...I want to be warm!

I have some ski doo ones that I can't remember where I got them but they work great on my atv and nytro and my old rev. They Velcro all the way open so they slide over the controls easy (maybe they all do that??)
I have a 2012 Vector with hooked bars, and Gauntlets that I bought last year for my 09 Venture, I will try throwing them on the Vector.
Should fit OK--- I think
Also a Buddy of mine has an Apex, and a Vector, I believe he changes them back and fourth between machines.
The ones I have are Yammi's and they are great, -20 and ride all day with the heaters on low or off all together.
Like you said, dont care how it looks, the Doctor's office is full of cool looking people with frost bite. :rules

X2. Skidoo muffs work great! They're cheaper and more effective IMO.

I found the biggest problem was finding ones that slide over the controls easily-without splitting. get past that and most will work just fine.

My doo ones are the cheaper of the two as well.

My old ones have elastic bands that (tried to) stretch over the brake cyl., etc. and eventually they ripped or the elastic broke. The biggest things I'm looking for are:
1. The gauntlets are always open so you can easily get your hands on the grips
2. They work on hooked handlebars.
3. They don't cost >$75

Take a look at coldguards.com just got a pair so not sure how they work
I tried the Yammi's I bought for the venture on my Vector and they do fit but are a little sloppy.
They have a bungee on the bar side that you draw tight and have the spring loaded lock to hold it tight, but the Venture has the bar pad, and my vector does not so you can't draw it tight enough. As for the hooked bars there is more than enough room.

Do you have the Yamaha part number for them? Or can you take a picture of them and post it here or email it to me?
Thanks!

These are the ones SMA-8ETHP-DR-00
Left my phone at work but I can get you a pic on Monday.

I have some cheap Parts Unlimited gauntlets that I sometimes carry if it's really cold. Fit with no problems on my Apex.
I don't recall if they were standard our deluxe though.
