- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
Have a 2005 Vector and just got done installing the mega tall/mega wide windshield. When I turn to the right my long brake lever just hits the w-shield. But what I noticed and measured is that the sled turns about 1"+ (at the handlebars) more to the right than to the left. I changed out the spindle and bulkhead bushings among other things. Did I not put something back together properly? Where are the steering travel "stops"?
Thanks in advance for your help!

You may have put the spindles back on off centered?? Are your bars and skis aligned?

The spindles are on correctly. I need to recheck the alignments.

The steering stops are on the splined arm that your tie rods attach to. If you are off one spline on one spindle that would cause different stop points.
Also....inspect the stop tabs on the splined arms. If ski ever hit something abrubtly it could bend, break or even dent it which would alter the "stop" point of your handlbars.

You will be able to gain some by turning your bars down slightly as well. But best to make sure everything is aligned first.

Thanks for all the replies so far! I have posted a new topic on the Tech Forum asking for the correct procedures to align the h-bar and track. I listed the procedure as I know it on my other sleds....just have never done it on a Yamaha 4S and just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

The stop tabs look to be in good shape. I plan on checking alignment later today.
