2009 Nytro Rtx
Hello everyone I am new to the site. I have a 2009 nytro rtx with the 121 skid. I have put a header and muffler, also have changed the clutch. I was wondering about changing the stock gearing to a 21 tooth. Just wondering if I will be able to still get out of the hole and gain a few mph on top. Is that too much gear for the sled. Thanks

Stock gearing s 21/39. You would want to go to a 22 top gear but that requires a 70 link chan. I'd search the topic and be prepared to do a lot of reading....gearing has helped some and hurt others. You won't lose anything out of the hole and may help a bit on the top or you'll ake no gains at all. Don't expext any gains of you're a heavier guy (200 lbs +). I tried 22/38 which is similar but allows use of the stock chain...didn't gan a thing.

Thank you for the input. I had an 08 with all the same setup as the new sled and would put people to shame. Love my nytro. My friend had the gear kicking around and never tried it so I was interested. Lol I am a heavier guy on a beer diet.

I'm actually thinking of dropping down one tooth to a 20/39 combo. While I'd love this sled to run 105-110, I just don't think it will being that Im a heavier guy. I actually like it running strong up to 100 mph and could care less after that, I've played the top end game and while it's fun, you can only do it in a few places. Super strong to 1000-1320 ft is fun
