Looking for a ball park set up or 660' snow drags. will be running a 1.25 ripsaw with 1.45 megabites. Also Have a 1.5 for the loose stuff.

are you running the 9 tooth drivers or 8 tooth drivers.i would gear down if you have good traction and 9 tooth drivers.

How many pounds of boost?
What size turbo?
What have you got for clutch components right now?
the condition of the base dictates what u need for a track
most snow drags your gonna need at least a 1.75 real hard durometer track.
If you run up against a well set up 2 stroke ur gonna be in a world of hurt with no traction.
i have set up a lot of front mounts very similar to yours.
keyboard clutching tho can only get ya close.
You have to balance gearing/clutching & available traction.
A lot of times with a smaller lug track ur better off with higher gearing & less boost. It is easy to blow out available traction in snow drags by being overly aggressive.

Turk, how does gearing high effect this? say you gear for 150MPH on 9 or 10 tooth drivers. to slow the initial hit down, will it still pull good mid range and top end? Say 15 -18 lbs boost?

If your geared too low with craptacular traction for your conditions your gonna spin hard. it takes a lot of testing in different conditions.,
You gotta balance boost/traction/gearing & every track u race on will be different.
If you know before hand the conditions it will make a huge diff.
Higher gearing = less torque on holeshot which means better traction in crappy conditions.

There is allmost a science to proper set up on snow cus it ain't consistent like ice or grass.

Might gear low enough but just load it more on start it will have somewhat less power at that moment you need traction and then get up to correct rpms.

May require lot of testing doing this

Hi guys, thanks for the replies, Iv'e done a lot of drag racing but this will be the first time with the turbo. just looking for something to start with. I forget the gearing I have in it right now?... I think it's 27 on the top wich is way to tall... I agree with you, I have to be geared a little bit taller to take some of traction off the line. I'm running the stock drives, I will be installing some extrenal driver.

I like the "2 cut down to a 1.5", makes the track stiff. The sled will be going to see Hurricane Performance to get all the h.p. I can get out of a stock block. I'm just kinda fishing. I have a clutch kit from Bender that will be going, I don't like it at all, it may have been from an rx1. Can't add enough weight to it as is.

I was thinking about going with the Shockwave helix and some heavy adjustable weights, either Dalton or supreme tool.
I'm thinking about pulling out the reverse set up, not sure how much weight that will drop? but it will be easier for testing and changing gears.

I will be asking Hurricane to give me the Max. H.P. for a stock block for 500'-660' on what ever race fuel required. I'm not looking for safe trail h.p. just straight up drag race. I would like to have the boost controller set for A(Max/660' race) B(something lower incase I have to do a little Trail, like King Of The Trail type thing.

Run a set of 20/50 supertorquer 2 speed weights with a helix about a 56/46. I have succesfully used this set up in 400hp sleds. The initial belt grab is amazing & it can harness a lot of hp. I have a set of turbo size supertips for sale if you need em.

Right on thanks fella, what kind of gearing have you ran? and the 400h.p. is that with the stock block?

The ones I have set up have been both blocks. 320ish hp is easy on a stock block with good fuel. The 2 speeds are easy to tune & can harness a lot of hp.

Turk is this on the Yammi clutch?

Do you have a strong trail setup using the Supertorquer weights?

I currently run 60 g STs, the old ones, and a 56/46 Dalton Helix. I'm raising the bar to 350+ HP this season.

Start with the 20/50,s & white hc spring. 5 grams heel & tip for starters. add inner weight if you overrev.
The yammie clutch handles all this just fine.
