Whats the best gearing for a 1000ft run?
I'm running 22/38 =1.727
If I remember correctly I recall some people saying that they were losing acceleration by gearing down.
I realize the efficiency of the clutching falls off after a 1:1 ratio, but according to my math, At 10,500 RPM I should be doing 104mph @ 1:1 with the 22/38 gearing.
I ran this gearing last year and hit 97-100mph consistantly. So, I think I'm in the right ballpark. I can't believe gearing up would net any more mph.
What do you guys think? Would gearing up get me anymore MPH.
Thanks

I would say YES!! This motor loves to pull tall gearing!! I am going to a 25/38 very soon!!
Skydog P.S. I was told by a few people that know the RX1 big time! It loves tall gears!!

THE DRIVEN IS A TEAM WITH A 54-38 HELIX AND A RED/BLACK SPRING
155/222 LBS.I NOW HAVE ALMOST NO ENGINE BRAKING AT ALL.THIS SETUP WILL HIT 109 MPH AND IT PULLS REAL HARD.THATS NOT BAD FOR A 2IN. TRACK.

Quicker but not necessarily faster.
Stay stock gears 24/38.

Pro 116,I run a 1 1/2 camoplast track,22/38 gearing, heavy hitters,k&n air kit,and some other mods done.On radar I hit 94 miles in 1000 ft.F8 can get 96 miles per hour .When we line up I can beat him each time. With the 24/38 gearing I am always behind, not good. That is why your ET is better then speed.Thinking on putting a 23 top tooth to see what happends.Winning is # 1 with me.
