Ok, the one thing I haven't messed with after adding the M7 skid and 162" track is the gearing and clutching. I figured I should wait and get the thing in the snow for observation. I kept the stock drivers, do I need to change gears to get more power to the track? Also, I have heard that the 05' RX clutching works well, how much does it cost to change?

Correct me if I am wrong, as I did not know there was a 2.52 pitch 162 track avilable.

If it was my sled, I would put on a bottom gear at min. I have a 43 in mine, but I changed up to 9t drivers and a longer track. But the out seal for the case cover as to be cut abit. Since you just went longer and left the drivers stock, put in the 42 and no mods to the seal.

I run 20 - 42 gearing on mine with 162 3.0" pitch 7 tooth drivers, '05 clutching. Most of my riding is at 11,000 - 12,000 feet. Thinking about droping top to a 19 - 42. 19 - 42 is lowest gearing you can run with stock chain. top speed is only 75 mph but works awsome in trees and on hills.

Any more thoughts out there. The snow is coming and I need to get this done. So far I have heard a few say 20/42 and a few say 19/43. Anyone want to add to that?

Also, Rideblue, do you know how much size difference there is between 8 tooth stock and 7 tooth 3" pitch drivers?

Grape, there is definately a 2.52 pitch 162 track. I have a Camoplast 9977M 2.52 pitch 15" wide 2" by 162" track.

Well, I got very little feedback on gearing so I made my best guess. I have heard numerous people saying go with 19/43 all the way to stay with 21/40. I decided to match my buddies sled (non RX) with 20/42 with my 8 tooth drivers. I want it to be friendly in the trees and deep and climbing but not over-rev on the trail. Regarding the clutching, I am just going with 05 specs but with a silver socondary. I guess we'll see how it goes.
