Gearing? FX vs. Mtn Lite and top speeds!

By my calculations, I believe top speeds under ideal conditions will be:

Mnt Lite -- 67
Fx -- 80
Gt -- 89
Venture -- 85
Base Model ?

Still wondering what the Standard Base model (not GT,FX,Mnt) Phazer is geared?

Read in amsnow that jeff simon on simon's cpr put a phazer on the asphalt last spring and quickly turned 91 mph, 13,4 sec quarter mile time!
Was that a GT or Base Model ? seems like the FX is geared down too much for that speed.

I believe that was a base model, I dont remember seeing any deflectors or windshield on it.

I would think because the tracks are the same on the FX and base (14x121x1" Ripsaw) the ratios would be the same... I would think anyways...

The Gt has a 14x121x1 Hacksaw, the Mnt lite has 14x144x2 Maverick , and the Venture lite has a 15x144x1.25 Camoplast Ripsaw.

The track reflects where the machine was intended to ride and the FX and the base share the same track so I would assume similar gear ratios... assume.

BV1 is your machine not an FX or is that a regular one?

If so did you get a chance to take it up in the double digits :) ?

Talking a big storm tonight for winnipeg Woohoo!!!

BTW: the gearing info I gave before is right out of the owners manual.

According to the yamaha info calculator: TOP SPEEDS @ 11,300 RPM(noted as shift speed on clutch)
Mtn lite: 89.56
GT: 118.51
FX: 106.56
Venture: 102.51

Hehe, Im not back home yet, but looking FW to it. My machine is a GT, hence my signature, lol :) Looking forward to some more riding when I get back.

I've seen double digits on both the ODO and the Speedo, no triple digits yet hehe.

GT at 118,51..... LOL, I would like to see that in real life (stock)...

11300 RPM on the engine, yes. NOT on the clutch!!! Remember the gear-reduction to the PTO-shaft. The previous posted top-speeds by yamy07 is correct (in theory)...

Yeah I didn't think those numbers where right, but without the proper gear ratios for the whole drive train its hard to calculate

Figure 8400rpm clutch rpms @ 12000 rpms engine.
1.43 internal gear reduction.

Just to add to this thread.

Gearing
FX is 41/18 -- 80 MPH reported (snow)
GT is 41/20 -- 91.85 MPH (paved)
Mtn is 41/17 -- 72 MPH reported (snow)
Venture is 45/19

Hoping to get those trails open and groomed soon so can open it up somewhere.
