Hey guys looking for some advice from the guys running this set up. Currently I have full hindle exhaust, cr10ek plugs, 20/39 gearing, 14.5 mm rollers and ypy primary spring. Sled ran really good last winter but I have a PCV and auto tune to add to it this year.
My question is should I leave the gearing as it is, or step it up to 22/39, I have a 22 sitting on a shelf, just wondering if I can pull the extra gearing with the extra power? should i add a clutch kit? Or will I be fine with the current set up?
I also need a map to go with the PCV, what are my options?

Talk to Dave Marshall at Hurricane or Hindle, if your running their airbox mod for a map. I would definitely clutch also, but leave the gearing alone depending if it's stock and see what you think before doing something unnecessary. IMHO

Clutching would do wonders that sled. I know hurricane and ulmer both have the clutching and gearing knowledge for you here being they both sell the pcv and hindle setups. Could probably premap it for you also

whoever u bought the pcv from have them send you a map or grab a clutch kit from ulmer. its better that you improve how the power gets put to the ground rather than running stock clutching that isnt as efficient. clutching will make it feel like you got another 10hp or so because it puts the power down better. I did read on another thread a guy with these mods got slower in the 1500' with a 21 top gear. im sure over a longer distance you might be faster if the clutches shift out fully.

I ran 22/38 gearing 2 years ago and my sled pooped the bed speed wise...completely slowed me down everywhere...but I have a shorty and they seem to be more finicky with gear changes. You'd probably be fine adding that top gear but depending on how big you are, you may not notice anything. Even with the extra power, gearing just seems to be a wash for a lot of guys.
With your current clutching were you not having issues banging off the rev limiter or did you add more tip weight? Putting a more aggressive clutch kit will get you better results out of the hole and mid range but might not help top end. I know stock weights will give you better top end, but after putting in good clutching I now enjoy short burst racing like 1000-1320 ft

With my current set up rpm's are dead on, 9050-9100. I may leave it as is and see what happens.shaddow44 said:I ran 22/38 gearing 2 years ago and my sled pooped the bed speed wise...completely slowed me down everywhere...but I have a shorty and they seem to be more finicky with gear changes. If you are looking for more top end take the 1.75 lug track off.
Gearing should fit to your track. Stick with the gearing you have.
I'm running full Hindle, K&N intake, PCV and schmidt bros stage II with 19/39 gearing.
