I currently have 23/40 on my RX1 witha dalton setup, red primary, silver secondary, 57.5 weights and 14.5 rollers and 52r46 helix
I have a M-10 as well , but should I go back to stock? I am getting out of the hole good but no top end. I know the lower gearing is doing this but with the new clutch kit I'm wondering what the best gearing would be for all around performance.
Also is it true that with 8" rear idlers on the M-10 that you loose no top end?? What are the draw backs if any??
Thanks

You won't gain any more mph going to stock gearing it can't achieve it.I haven't tested the 8" wheel's on the m10 but people say they gained mph by doing it.
What are your rpm's.

Your gearing is fine, its the M10 thats robbing you of your speed. I'm running fine high speeds geared 23/42.

RPM
My RPM is right at 10K, I have to get it up some for peak I guess

If your RPM is holding at 10k, then you can definitely do good by gearing it down even further. You're definitely not shifting out all the way.
The ONLY way you would GAIN speed by gearing UP is if it'll run OVER 10500 at FULL SHIFT.
Edit: How in the he1l can it only do 10000 with 23/40 and a short track?? That thing SHOULD be spinning 10500 at full shift no matter how much weight you add to it. You've either got some SERIOUS resistance somewhere, or your engine isn't making near as much power as it should be. Mine runs 10500 with 23/42 and OVERDRIVE, even with 144" of rubber behind me.

Your going to have to lighten up your weight or put a primary spring in with more total force
