This question may have been addressed before. If so, i am sorry. I have an '06 apex gt with an Ulmer stage 2 clutch kit. Am i correct in saying that there is a 24 tooth top gear, stock. If so, is it beneficial to drop to a 23? I have heard alot of people talking about this. I would like to increase my midrange and top end.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Even though the 23 top results in "gearing down" the sled, you will probably not notice any loss in top speed in most conditions.
You will however have stronger acceleration out of the hole and at midrange which to me was most important.

He will gain top end with the 23tooth on any surface but bare ice. 24 is too tall of a gearing for a stock engine. The 23 will allow the clutches to shift further on top end resulting in more mph. Perefct example is 07rtx, uses a 22th upper sprocket and seems to be the fastest stock on snow and crappy conditions. On ice the 23 and 24 will sail right by on the big end. The 23 seems to provide a good all around gain for sleds that came with a 24th
