of the oil tank.... it melts on the oil tank and leaves a lot of ice build up. Thinking of putting some type of screen on it to filter the snow and still let in air.
Anyone done this? Where did you buy it and how did you install it? Silicone?

Buy a pet screen from the local hardware store. Glue or duct tape it inside the lower vent.

vent

I blocked it with Duct tape and that fixed the problem
dealer said it was fine
otherwise couldnt remove right side if issue as frozen solid to foam
poor design

I used a 3"x5" screen from Frogzskin. I tried it out this weekend riding in lots of powder and it worked great.

Ice build up

I ride mostly trails hence the dealer said ok with duct tape blocking off.
I agree if you are in powder all day it might cause overheating so using screen better idea.
I had 6 inches of ice around the oil can and the panel was also frozen on..so tape solved it...
I think I will switch anyway after reading your post..thanks
Jeff
