Did you also go to the Ripsaw? How big a job is it to install? It really sounds like the way to go. I have an 03 shorty and would like to update to a 136, but am just wondering how difficult it is to accomplish.

I'll second everybody else that stated more stability, bump soaking, hookup etc.
Best mod over the summer tied with my Precision skis.
Love it, and really don't see the push, but I did lose top end. Have a scatter 162 patter 1.325" studs.

Do you guys move the rear suspension bracket, to change the shock location ?
The ride can not change must just by adding 7" length can it?
If you put in a warrior skid, you change rear mount location!

I also went with the ripsaw track with 162 1.325s down the middle. Total installation time was probably around 4-6 hours and I took my time. Since then I put my old track on our 97 700SX. For THAT sled the 03 track with 192 studs works great. Go with the 136 Ripsaw... you won't regret it. If you are primarily a gromed trail rider you have more track lugs in the center of the track as opposed to a 9819 I believe.

BRX-1, I went with the Hartman kit because he sold me on it when I called to find out the difference between his and Mountain Performance. I did not get the extensions for the hyfax, so it is just the rail extension, I think it looks pretty good but I am going to get the hyfax extensions next year because I managed to derail my track once already(no idea how). I took my time with the installation and I didn't really time it because I had to wait for parts, but it was fairly simple. If you have half a brain, take your time and pay attention, anyone can complete the install. I did not relocate my skid because Tom Hartman asked me my riding style and reccomended that I stay with the original mounting, he said I would be very happy and I am. I went with the Ripsaw and I love it, hooks up awesome, along with 138 studs(I think thats the #) up the middle. The ride is improved noticebly with the longer skid, smoothes out the studders.

It is an option from Hartman for another $70. He said they are not required but are just for cosmetics. So I opted not to get them but I think they might help to keep the track aligned.

I went with the Hartman as well, the bumper looks better. You don't need the hi-fax extensions if you put in the fourth wheel kit. That will prevent derailing the track. I chose a fully clipped track and had extrovert drivers put on and trued. That allows looser track tension and eliminates ratcheting. The track is a 9834 I think, full block, fully clipped, 1 1/4". One of Mountain Performance's kits moves the front mounting holes back to lower the attack angle of the track. This would be OK for true deep snow riders but would increase the front ski weight on a trail machine. I think they also have a full rail kit that moves both mounting points back - basically a warrior with a lower attack angle in the front. The machine does look better balanced with the extension and longer track. Works well too.

I also went with Hartman's, the round bumper is easier on your hands when you lift the back end, the flat bumper from Mountain Performace will hurt when you lift it. Order the extension kit without the rail extensions, you then save $50. Take the $50 you saved add $29 to it and buy the rail exensions from Tracks USA. Tunnel and rails both look real good then, and you can use the longer hyfax with the Tracks USA extensions.
