Hi Guys,

Looking for ideas as to how or if anyone is mounting these on your sleds.

Thanks

That's the most common, as the machine is much less stable. Unless you want the special shot of the track, ski or bumper height.

There are plenty of rail and clamp mounts if you don't care to use the adhesive mounts.

Head and chest for me. I have even put my chest mount on backwards and shot those riding behind me.

Excellent idea putting chest mount backwards
I’m gonna try that this season

Do not trust the self adhesive mounts I lost the mounts 2 times lat yeat and camera was flapping from the tether. I also am not sure why but both the go pro and contour had trouble working at winter temps bunch of times I turned them on and left when I stopped both had shut off after about 30 seconds.

Years back I ran them at -20 no problem.

This video was from 3.5yrs ago. I had to play with the chesty on my back. I think it worked just fine. Sorry for the poor video quality, I have learned so much since then.

You do hear that sweet apex tone better with the cam on the back!

I use jump pack batteries to power my GoPros. They never last in the cold without the added battery packs charging them.

Sweet video, you’re going to have to get Macy to ride a little faster ! looks like you had to stop a lot LOL

Ya, that was her last trip on the Phazer. She rides much faster when leading, and now on her Viper. But when following, she likes to stay out of the snowdust.

What I have found with my GoPro cams is to keep spare batteries in the chest pocket on my bibs and swap them out on a regular basis. Even with out charging, just warming them up will allow them to run longer.

Used to be, these cams would run so hot, they would over heat. But that kept them running for us in the winter. Now the new batteries don't run as hot, so they don't generate as much heat. So I have to swap batteries more often. That being said, I usually can be on standby all day with a couple batteries.

I just learned to do Picture in picture with my editing software last night. So now with front and back cams, I should be able to showcase our rides better with more angles.

Good luck guys!

PS: Macy will be at Haydays this year signing autographs. If you see her hanging with biffdotorg, feel free to ask. You will never see a teenager blush quicker. She gives me crap all the time when subscribers to my youtube channel stop and say hi at a bar or on the trail.
