Just wondering if there is any thing that I should watch out for? I have a boondocker kit with a gt28 turbo, head shim, BOV, and boost controller. Any input would be great on things that I should be aware of while instaling it. Thanks Willy

Did you order all the gauges to go with the turbo?

be sure and retork head properly, make sure all the shims are in the center of the retainer pockets under your lifter buckets befor installing cams, throw some wieght to the clutch, abu,s or supertips, check and double check for leaks, if it is an rx1 you will need billit tee,s for carbs.

With there video out now, it will help your install greatly. Just follow it closely, and dont get in a rush. It will show you everything you need to know, but you can always ask if you have questions. I spent nearly 35 hours on the install, with gauges and all. But I am overly anal. Not a single problem so far, but she only got 500 miles on her now
If you didnt buy there clutch kit. Buy some supertips. There pricey but worth it. I put in a blue white blue springs as well. I put on a shockwave helix, but a stock replacement in 47' would work fine aswell. Good luck.

I have 1900 miles on my boondocker/Apex. I usually ride from 7500-10,000 feet. Feel free to pm me if you need any help. I put on the 28RS this year and am very impressed with power and throttle response.

I don't think the head shim is worth cracking the motor open for, IMO.

It depends on your fuel....to a point. I personally run 12lbs on 100ll. I will not run anymore than 17lbs on this motor stock.......just being overly cautious maybe...? With 17 lbs I will probably run straight 110.
If you leave your compression stock, you will need to load up the heel. I am still tuning, so take this with that in mind. But as of now, I have 7 grams in the tip, 2 in the middle, and 7 in the heel. At 11lbs it does not hit the rev limiter off the line, but only pulls about 9800 on the top up hill. At 12lbs, it hits the rev limiter, but pulls about 10300 up hill. This is at 9500 feet. I am going to put the 7 grams on the middle, and move the 2 to the tip and see how she does. I am also running a 48 degree helix. This is also with the 28rs.

When your kit shows up be sure and check all of the welds. I have looked at three different kits from boondocker and all had problems. Holes in header, intercooler, and one kit they forgot to finish welding about 3" on the oil tank. Didn't notice that until the oil was running out on the floor.
