I got the turbo back and took it for a little rip across the lawn and it would only make a couple pounds of boost. I but it on a stand and just hit the gas a bit to see what I could see on the boost gaugeand it went to the same 3 or so pounds. I talked to dave who installed it and said I need a good stretch but about 50 feet and the boost should hit pretty hard. I hate driving on the grass but had to see whats up. I have a turbo smart manual boost controller with Ulmer racing stage two turbo and Hurricane performance meth. Its set up to run tens pounds. I turned the controller a lot of clicks. I did it again on the stand just a little to see if it had changed and its just at five maybe a little higher. Its gonna rain so I will take it out and see. I just want to get it set to ten pounds because with just a couple pounds of boost im kinda disappointed. So when the boost hits it should go right to ten lbs for the most part or does it take a while to get full boost? I dont want to hammer on it while being on the stand but I figured I could see if it was at ten lbs?? I just feel weird to keep cranking the boost controller up. Any suggestions would be awesome! Sorry its so long but this sled is like my kid at this point. :-o

You will never get it to build boost on a stand, maybe a few lbs at most. there is no load on the motor.

Be carefull cranking the boost up. You just got it, dont want to blow it up first time out!!!

Turn the boost controller all the way counter clockwise, that should close it and the boost will be set for what the waste gate is set for.

The boost will build fast @ WOT, but a quick blast in your back yard may not be enough of a distance.

i know how hard it is not to play with a new toy but be patient and the time will come when you can turn her loose untill then wax on wax off

Ya even if it would just snow some it wouldnt be so bad. I HATE riding on the grass. I went across my lawn which is pretty long. Its a good 300 hundred feet or better where I hold it on my lawn. The most it hit was like 4 lbs when I took it and it wasnt going in any more it stayed their. Im not going to go hold it for a long time because I think thats dumb on the grass for a long distance unless its cold a wet. I just figured it would go to ten pounds right off. I turned it up some more its only at like 5.5 or lower and should be 10. Just want it to be their so I can feel it. Just have to wait unfortunately until we get some damn snow! I will get it and sticll have a bunch of stuff to put on yet. The sled still only has maybe a mile on it lol. I just wanna feel it with the ten lbs. I dont think its going to be as crazy as every one says. The instal is awesome and Dave is the man, I have called him a few times and always calls back which is awesome. Hes prolly sick of talking with me haha. Shoulda just bought the apex and did this :die :o| #$%&* ;):D

what is the waste gate on the turbo set for boost wise? You may need to dial the controller up to get the 10 lbs. 1 or 2 clicks on the controller isn't that much boost added.

You should really wait till you have more then 300 foot before you open her up. It is going to be as crazy as we all said. You have never rode a boosted sled yet. It will open your eyes!!

Good luck, Be patient!!!

Its way longer than 300 feet thats how long I was holding it for. I know it still has to come up boost wise but I will just have to wait. Im not sure what the waste gate is set at. I just cant wait! I want to feel it at 10 pounds and hope its crazy like every one says

If its set correctly, it should go to peak boost in 20 feet easy. Something is really not right if it's not pulling. I wouldn't keep running it till you get some help to look at it that knows boost. Too easy to hurt parts. I'd get rid of the boost controller first and use a properly setup wastegate. Once it's working then try a controller. Manual boost controllers have proved troublesome for me. Just start first without meth and controller.

When its right you definatly won't be disapointed.

Stock engine or reduced compression?

The meth kits already installed and its the stock motor. Its Ulmer racings stage two. I had dave from hurricance performance install the turbo and the meth kit so it was down buy some one with experience with turbos. Its his own meth kit.

Grab that boost controller dial and turn it WAY out till it makes boost. If that doesn't build boost,I'll come and see you.

Dave, What was your opinion of the ulmer racing turbo kit? I thought it looked like a nice setup for a good price.

I was sick yesterday so I didn't do any thing. I spoke with Allen and the waste gate on the turbo needs to be turned up. I hope I can get to it with out taking to much a part. I got stuff to do I hope Monday I can mess with it, maybe tomorrow
