On my Nytro, I used a flat based RAM EZ-Roller mount and bolted it to the top plastic handlebar cover on my handlebar riser to hold my Garmin hand held GPS.

I mounted like that on my Nytro but found I was always hitting the screen when climbing hills etc, so I ended up mounting it next to the pod. For flat trail riding it was great.
