Anyone have experience with graphite slides? Are they worth the extra money? Do they last any longer than regular slides?

I've used them on a couple of yammys didnt seem to notice any benefits as far as wear issues, did seem to move a little free'er in limited snow condition's though. On my 03 RX with 06 skid I'm using ski-doo sliders, my brother put them on his Apex and they last alot longer.

Boy do I feel good about that purchase!
I just bought hiperfax for my extended skid hoping to see better results than last season. With the hiperfax they want the track to be fully clipped. I have not ridden it yet so I can't tell you if there is a difference in wear.

Hiperfax, that is a different story. Those are Teflon insert and can last a lot longer... much longer if heat melting is the problem.
If your problem is snirt (abrasives) they wont last that much longer.
Hiperfax is a nice product, really reduces friction and can make your sled faster....
You dont need to be fully clipped, but if not you do need SLP wearpads, $24 and 45 min easy install!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used 3 pair of hiperfax and IMO they are well worth the extra cost except in very low snow conditions where the snirt takes its toll

I have used the ones from yamaha they were 21.00 compared to 19.00 for the ordinary ones ,but i cut the windows out in the track found that alot better with regards to wearing my hyfax prematurely. Can't say if it was because of the graphite hyfax or the windows being open but for 2.00 what did i have to loose for a little added protection. My 2 cents....

I've heard that the black yam's are graphite, but as far as regular plastic vs. graphite, get the graphites. On two of my sleds, at different times with different conditions, I've TRIED regular plastic sliders. Lasted about 3 weeks and had to replace. Switched both of those sleds to graphite and haven't changed them again (about 7-8 years and counting). Granted, both of those sleds are REAL EASY on sliders - mileage may vary with skid, weight, power, etc.

Well, definitely varying opinions. For the $2 difference I think I'll try them if the dealer has them. Thanks for the help.

Yamaha makes a slide designated with an HP suffix in the part number that has graphite in them. As far as I knew the regular black plastic ones didn't have it? The part numbers are different. I've had good luck with the graphites on my other two sleds in the past. Never got hot and stuck and didn't see plastic in the windows. Can't verify longevity because my Vmax ate them up no matter what they were. I just put them on my Vector and my wife's PZ500 but it's too soon to tell. Hope they last at least as long as the originals....

I picked up a set of the Yami Hp slides. We'll see how they work out. Dealer actually only charged me the price of one for the pair. My lucky day I guess.

I already have the clips for the track so i'll stick with it i suppose. It was a melting problem i had so that makes me feel a little better.

Tried snowstuff graphite sleds on my vmax they didn't make it 500miles in good snow they fell apart in layers will never go back .thats really hard on the rails when you have catastrophic failure.
