Has anyone tried the Yamaha high performance graphite wide slides offered in the accessories catalog?
144" slide P/N: SMA-8HL92-00-HP $21.95 each.
Any one got any experience with these?

I put them on my Nytro last season....they worked ok....I rode down some pretty crappy sections of trail and after their inital wear they never burned down any more...maybe half way and stuck, but then again I did some enhancements to help with slide wear...I would say they are not much better than regular sliders.

Just put them on my apex ltx this year, when I get some snow and put some miles on them I will let you know. GOT SNOW????

Been using them for a couple years. I believe they are impregnated with graphite. They are better than the standard slides IMO, but they still wear. I do put on about 2500 miles a year in various conditions and I can always feel confident they will last me throughout the season, then replace again in spring. Using the standard slides, I may have still made it through the season, but I was always nervous toward the end of the season.

Langow,
The nervous thing is why I am going with the pioneer wheel mounts. Larger wheels will do the same thing.

I bought them this year, have 300 miles on them. They're down to the "magic" point of almost the wear mark.
Pretty good snow, so I would say in all they don't last any longer. Might slide easier, but I don't know how I'd know. I might go another couple trips on them to see if the wear tapers off, but I have the Pioneer Perf kit on the way too.

If you already have good wheels, why spend the money for larger ones. The kit is less money, and you can stick with stock wheels.

PS, while I have the wheels off, I flushed the old grease out, and am putting fresh grease in.

I've got them on my Attak (136" version). I like them. They look the same as all other black sliders; can't tell they are different or have graphite mix in them. They aren't wearing down bad at all.

I have been using the graphite last 4 years and will only use them, I can usually get a season or about 1,200 to 1,500 miles. The regular hyfaxes last for me 500 to 900.

Use slides for a 03 rx-1 they are narrower, cheaper and will outlast those wide slides!

Thanks for all the replies folks!
What is the story on the RX-1 slides? What makes them last longer?
