Hey all,
I have a buddy who wants to buy a Phazer. He can't seem to find an FX/RTX model anywhere, so he is considering a GT. He is an aggressive ditch rider (mods would be freeride track, suspension recal and re-gearing) Would a modded GT model work well for agressive ditch riding? Are the rear shocks rebuildable (and worth a recalibration)? Thanks, Frank R.

i kind of use mine like that, i thought the gt meant gnarly trail,
i have had snopros, prox2s, xc it doesn't matter i broke those real quick, right out of the box,
but this little shitter, besides the crap from recalls'
has really held up suspension wise, yea it bottoms but if you know how to ride you can escape alot of that beating,
i think the bottom needs more armor as the chain case is vulnerable, that is all it took to total mine.
she is back together now ready to commence the beatings again,
it's hard to justify putting money into shocks when ya can't sell them for what theyre worth.
theyre cheap shocks but mine have 3500 miles on them?
it's not about speed with these its about average speed, imo you have to ride one to know the things we know about them, clean air is awesome , they are flickable in the anywhere ,actually
i just posted a thread so maybe you can see some of these guys riding them, i have some in deep snow ditches, nothing special that i will be posting

My GT takes a rough beating and I have no complaints. I weigh 150 with all my gear on.
How much does your buddy weigh? weight plays a big factor with the Phazer.

Guys,
I am familiar with the Phazer, I owned an FX a couple seasons ago. My buddy has heard the stories from me We also ride mx quads in the summer, so his riding style will fit it well. He is a bigger guy, likes to jump too. I know it will have to be recalibrated from his weight and riding, just want to know if you guys think the GT susp is worth the $$ recalibrating. Also, are the rear shocks rebuildable?

Rear shocks rebuildable.. couldnt tell ya. Call your local Yami dealer and ask. It will be take a whole 5 min instead of waiting for the right guy to answer you.
Also if hes spending the money on recalibrating the susp then its definatly worth the money.

rears aren't rebuildable on the 07 model. not sure for the 08's & up.
set of good shocks should do the trick.

Before I bought my FX I was lucky enough that the dealer let me test a GT and an FX (demos) beforehand. The GT is really, really soft compared to the FX. I was bottoming the GT in places that I would be just skipping over on the FX. So I bought the FX.

because i just bought the same type windshield and didnt realize i needed a different mount than the one that came on my rtx and i have the bag and without it i would have no storage and was wondering if they made a bag to go with that windshield

Wow the same thing happened to me! I bought the windshield, asked the dealer if the mounts will fit and he says oh yea no problem. I get it home, sure enough, it doesnt fit so I drilled my own holes and it fits.
I wouldnt mind the bag but its not a big concern for me.
