I have a Venture GT and a 12 foot snocap covered trailer.

:o| :o| :o|
THe wind shield hits with closing the top. First time I put a towel over the wind shield and closed it slowly and trailered 15 miles, no issues. Second time got some scuffs.

I am worried about scuffs and what about breaking when it is 20 below?

Does anyone have a solution?

I am thinking about a towel and straping from bumper to handle bars and pull in down real slow. BUT what a Pain every time I load to have to mess with this.

Of course I am thinking a 24 foot enclosed trailer would solve my storage and trailering issues. Yea thats it,,,,,,,,, hmmmmm wonder what the wife would think of that? LOL :jump:

Thanks for pointing out. I just purchased a Venture and need a trailer. Have been looking for a Clamshell type to store the sled in as they seem to be the cheapest. I really just need the tailer for storage as I own property (no garage) in NH and will use the sled up there only so it would be nice have under cover when not there. Is an 11ft trailer to short?

I'd say the best bet is to get your tape measure out and see what the sled needs for clearance. Then when trailer shopping bring your tape and maybe a flashlight. Hop in the back and see for yourself. That's a bugger though, having a trailer at home that's long enough but not high enough.

The dealer (Irwin Supply) tells me mine fits fine in a Blizzard 11'. It's the clamshell type. I haven't seen this with my own eyes. By my measurement the sled is 131" from ski tip to snow flap edge ... so 11' should be enough. Not sure exactly what height is needed. I have a 10' snowpro, which obviously won't do. Don't really like the idea of hauling (the few times I do) in an open ATV trailer. Plus as was said the trailer makes for nice summer time storage. I was thinking about checking out Toy Carrier they seem to have more height. Strange all the dealers in my area have dried up. Not a good sign I guess.

A friend has a 2010 Venture with the big windshield. He had a 12' single trailer with a Toy Carrier cover, and it wasn't high enough to accommodate the windshield. He ended up selling the trailer, and got a V-nose enclosed with more height.

Triton TC11. Plenty of height and your Venture will easily fit. Plus it is a drive on so you are not battling hundreds of pounds of snow on the roof when trying to lift the clamshell.

have a tomco fiber glass cover to put the phazer in it with the tall wind sheild on it we have to remove it every time what a pain.

Gotta be some other guys out there that have clamshells and can comment................

The TC11 looks to be the best option I've seen so far. Good god will the spending ever stop? :whine:

I have a 2011 Apex and when I installed The tall windshield, It also touches the top of my Triton clamshell trailer. I used a jack inside where it was hitting and flexed the roof bows in that area. It helped alot, but still touches slightly.
Since snowmobiling is over for this year, I will investigate pulling the sled down in the front before closing the trailer lid.

I have been looking at removing the windshield prior to the long haul home. I would love to get a new drive on off V nose but 8-10 grand minus what I can get for my trailer. Kind off a tough pill to swallow. I may still talk myself into this.

Can a guy just bend it down?
