Anybody have the instructions to do this properly, without going overboard.

What I did was cut out a large square with a small grinder, (make sure its small because it will make it easy to weld back up) on the top side of the muffler and on one end left two one inch pieces of metal still connected, kind of like hinges. I then opened up the muffler by bending it all out of the way. I gutted everything out of the muffler with a torch except two inches of the pipes coming in and two inches of the pipes going out. I had a welder friend Tig weld it back up for me for $30.00. It looked exactly the same as stock but seven pounds lighter. I compared it to my buddies stock muffler we had in the shop because he spent $400.00 on an aftermarket exhaust. The sound is great! At first it sounded loud but it wasn't bad at all, made the sled sound pissed off. Worked very well with K&N filters. I was 7 to 8 sled lengths ahead of a stock RX-1.
My brother in law inherited the filters and exhaust when I got my Turbo.
He loves it!
