Looking for advise on team clutches setups
Who are the vendors to contact that have been putting the most time into the cats?
I was told Ron Ward is one guy has anyone delt with him?
I am running 2019 zr 9000 limited 137 with hurricanes aftermarket muffler tunes (240/270/300).
My clutches are stock with the exception of dalton adjustable weights and stock 24/50 gears.
I am a 100% trail guy that like to line up with others here and there!
With just the dalton weights it seem to run very well (over 3000km and clutches are spotless) but always looking for better...lol
I had 0 issues with any belt blowing still running original that came with machine and I ride it like I stole it!!! Tuned it with 0 km when new
Thanks
Marc

Sounds good at were you are, why touch it??? Maybe a Pro 4 secondary, thunder products.

One of my riding buds has a 17 9000.
I installed max spool 16, and all he has done with the clutching is changed to a softer primary spring.
Sleds pulls about 8900 according to him.
I really think a lot of guys go overboard on clutching.

X2. After 3,000 miles my Team clutches are like new, literally. I can't find any parts or bushings or anything to replace because nothing is worn. I too use a "softer" primary spring. I am exclusively a trail rider and I like the lower engagement (approx. 3100) the soft spring yields compared to the stock spring which had engagement at 4,200.
If you are looking for another opinion for Team clutching for tuned 998's you could call Jake at D&D Racing in Lowville, NY. I've had really good advice from these guys over the years. So what do you do as far as clutching on your bundle? Clutch a little high for the 300 and then have motor under-rev for the 240 & 270? I know it's a compromise if you're trying to run a bundle.

My 300 is reving around 9000 and it seem to work well for the 270 240 will need a little more seat time next winter to find a good balance
I was hitting the rev limiter when launching

What primary spring are you running?
Thanks

Correction, when I said "otherwise stock" I meant stock spider, stock sheaves and cover. Weights are not stock (w 280HP tune LOL). Running about 81 gms @ 8850-8900 RPM. Weights are D&D MagnaForce which I really like. It's so easy to add or subtract weight. Never had an issue with them yet.

Switch to a Yamaha primary and you'll have all kinds of excitement
Lol!!! Some have issues and some don't! I have good friends and guys I flashed that have had no serious issues!! One friend had to replace primary rollers at around 10000 km! He was saying that all the rollers seemed fine when visually looking at them and rolling them but when he removed one it was totally shot!!These thing are ridiculously powerful machines tuned and when I wack the throttle I often think how my drivline is staying together!!lol It is important if you add extra hp to closely inspect and take thing apart a few times a season! But even then things happens

X2! Sled was designed at 180HP. It's not a wonder there are "issues" at 280-300+HP!! When you pull the trigger on one of these big tunes , especially with big time traction, I do wonder how all that stuff can possibly hold together (clutches, jackshaft is only about 1" in dia. behind the top gear, chain, etc).
