well just finished my last ride in the states before my apex heads down under for the aussie snow season. Started pulling the sled apart to put it on the yamaha crate. Discovered that one carbite was completly worn out and thats why my steering was pulling to one side on the trails.
What a great season to start out here have loved it !!
cheers ,

cool man, we will ride here until June 1st, getting more snow this week, maybe some day you can come to Alaska and enjoy our winter and run some ski slopes here...LOL. You get to go to Australia and have winter all over again though don't you....seasons opposite right? That would be awesome to have winter twice in one year...and don't for get to keep us posted on the brake to reverse conversion you talked about!

I remember a snowmobile magazine(SNOWMOBILE 1998 ) that talked about the far off places they ride and sell snowmobiles(article stated that they sell 200 arctic cats a year in the mountains of LEBANON,and ride sleds in korea and south america). They then mention australia and stated that all snowmobiles in australia are owned by the government, and that there once was a tour company that let people rent them but there were too many riders going over the sides of the mountains and destroying sleds.Any truth to this?

truth about sleds in australia is you need to have a business and a place of residency in the snow to be able to own one. Then its up to the resort management to give the rego to use it. Im also in the search and rescue service which helps. The gov doesnt own them you do but you cant just go back country and use them.

WOW....
That must suck! Your home country saying you can't own a sled unless you jump through these hoops and qualify for certain reasons....that's GAY....I feel sorry for you dude! You said you can't just go back country riding....so where do you go....designated area's? WOW man that seems to hard to believe...we don' thave groomed trails here hell I've never even seen one all we do is back country and river valley riding. Any where we can go we go and no laws prohibitting anything, noise, speed etc. etc. I truly love Alaska.....you must come to this state and expereince true freedom some day!

I hear ya, the reason is and you must remember all our ski areas and i mean all the snow is in National parks so you can see why the gov doesnt want people hooning around the mountains on machines.
You guys must be soo lucky to be able just go riding where you want.
In the search and rescue we can go back country but its for training purposes only if you get my drift and thats once a week.
niko.

I've always dreamed of sledding in Alaska, I'd move there if the wife was a little more open to it.
But snowmobiling in Australia, I've never heard of it. That will have to be the ultimate trip.
