Hand Guards that won't break

none of our vectors came with hand guards, so we bought 4 sets of powermadd's with the snowmobile mounting hardware and put them on the sled, but we left the mounting hardware slightly loose so if you roll the sled they jus flip up out of the way and do not break. then we bought a phazer, and after breaking the handguards off from laying it on its side during carving(had a few fails and flipped it) i broke the crappy aluminum mounts off at the bolt holes. so i got my uncle to aluminum weld it and lay a piece of aluminum over the top and bottom to renforce it, then the plastic broke. so ijus bought power madds for that too, and probly rolled it 3 times after that and they are jus like new. problem with phazer's are that when you roll them the handle bars actully smash into the ground, on the vectors that handlebars remain about 3 inches off the ground. must be cuz vectors have wider body pannels or somthing. i wish our sleds had straight bars so i could put mx type hand guards on with the bar that attaches to the end of the bars, just a thought if you have straight bars

I thought I saw in one of the snow mags, that there was someone making flexible ones that could not break. Seems I looked them up and they were expensive, but if they hold up probably worth it..

Good to hear I'm not the only one with the brackets breaking at the thread. I have had 2 pairs break now. One set broke in the trailer on the way out to Yellowstone 2 years ago. Was fine when we loaded and 1600 miles later went to run it out of the trailer and there it laid, the hand guard was on the floor beside it? Glad to hear of the powdermadd fix. I have one broke now from the last ride this year and hadn't ordered another yet. Sounds like I have a new way to fix it now!!
