- 2007 Attak - LOVE my sled!!!
Something to be careful of on the ECU reflash.
Wait until it gets cold.
What happens is yes, they will be warmer & more than enough in your garage.
Unfortunately they will usually not be warm enough on the trail.
We ran into the exact same issue with the Yamaheaters.
We initially sold them without the Boost as it worked very well without on all our test sleds, unfortunately, we found out very quickly that it was not enough more for the majority of sleds out there in the real world.
Even with the grips on 100% of the time, there simply is not enough heat output to be warm & comfortable.
We even worked with re-flashing the ECU like this, however it wasn't warm enough, we didn't want the lag time in sending it out & back, & didn't want to risk hurting anyones warranty.
So we dropped the ECU re-flash as not workable for a handwarmer fix.
This is why we only sell the P&P with Boost for the Nytros.
The Nyros simply are too cold without the Boost in actual riding conditions.
Hate to see guys waste the money to try to get their hands warm.
If you want the reflash for other reasons, go for it!
However don't realistically expect it to solve the grip problem for you.
Hope this helps!

Rock,
I had your product on my Apex a few years ago. It worked great.
In the process of tuning the Nytro ECU (which no other company has had the ability to do to my knowlege), we discovered why the handwarmers don't work properly. It is 100% in the programming. Regardless of what power level your handwarmers are set at on the dash, the ECU controls how much power is sent to the warmers. Only 30% max below 5000 rpms. Also, every time the brake is applied, power is cut. The fact is there is NOTHING wrong with the warmers themselves. We have simply provided a fix that involves no hardware changes and it works.

So...if you have Rock's Yamaheater with boost AND the ECU programmed, what would the results be? And will they work together? Will there still be a gain over all? OR should you just have one or the other?
I really like warm hands and would invest a little more to have the ultimate warm hands!

My hand warmer with yamaheaters with boost still don't get warm enough on really cold rides and I run them on boost mode all the time.
Is the reflash work with the yamaheaters?

If your hands are not warm enough with the yamaheaters on I think you need to see a doctor! The other night it was -35 plus the windchill, and I could only turn on the boost mode for like five mins and I couldn't take it anymore as it felt like my hands were burning off. Are you sure yours are working properly?

I have verified they are working properly I also have the thumb booster yamaheater which is always way hotter than the hand grips.

If that's not keeping you warm what about adding the gauntlets for the colder days? Is it your entire hand or finger tips?
