Funny someone should ask that.
The 07 Phazer hand guards and possibly 08 were the old style with black around the edges. The newer ones came with the "pointed" handguards that the Nytro used.
I just saw a Nytro in the dealership with the older Phazer handguards on. They were definately not stock.
Sorry that doesn't answer your question though.

I'd like to know if the 'soft' ones they sell are any warmer? I forgot the brand name. The stock ones are so small.

I love my soft Skinz Handguards. They work a little better on hooked handledbars because of the way they mount to the outside of the bar. I think there is a Yamaha branded on that are the same thing.

Skinz, that's them. My buddy has them on his Vector, but he never tried his sled without them. I think he has to mess with his cover a little bit, but otherwise they seem to stay in place.

Thought I saw an aftermarket company that makes a hand guard with a built-in rearview mirror. Anyone know about this?

Heck, you can get them with blinkers in them, for duel sport bikes.
I'm actually interested in the mirror ones for my bike so i can get rid of my loli pop mirrirs.

Yeah, I got them from USI- about $80. They have ROX mounts and don't vibrate a whole lot either

Nice! Can you actually see behind you? I'd like some on my bike, but need them to work too.

Yeah they're real functionable, thats why I took the PowerMadd ones (sitting on the bench) off and sold them for $40
My Wife's a newer rider so I like to know she's still behind me without having to turn around all the time.

You're right, i ALWAYS keep an eye on the guy behind me to make sure he's still there and ok. When it's cold, i hate looking back because it seems to 'break the seal' and you get cold.
