Has anyone had there grips off there new fx nytro? I have a buddy thats sled tipped over and bent the handle bars beyond repair. Now he is looking at replacing the bars with a new set. The bars are cheap(45.00) But the heated grips are outrageous.(120.00) for the tape and 8 bucks for the rubber grip. Anyone have any advice on how to remove the grip without screwing the heated tape? Anyone fixed the lack of heat issue? Anything to add would be great help......Thanks.....RR

Does anyone have a take off set?

Well we got the bars off and the grips off and heaters out.....but I have to put the old heaters on the bars without screwing them up. Ohmed the heaters before(8 ohms) and so I will know if they go bad on an install. If they get screwed it could be a $240 dollar day!!!! The other problem is the heaters are sandwiched between 2 layers of tape or vinyl and the one side came off in spots. So thinking of putting down some electrical...33 tape and then the heaters and then the glue and then the grips...what do you think? What do you guys use to install the grips? Grip glue? Silicone? Or Hairspray like on dirt bikes? Let me know!!!!

Black spray paint works good to keep the grips on... Well it at least works on the doos I've got with the separate heater pads and non-rivoted grips... Also buy a roll of super88 electrical tape its the cold weather spec tape plus it doesn't seem to get all glue gooey with age...

Bars

I did the same thing first trip to the mountains bent my bars a bit.. Thought I could salvage thr grips/heater tape.. I used a heat gun warmed up the grips etc. but still damaged the heating element/tape..
Yammi wanted and arm and a leg for grips/heaters/bars I think it was around $350.. I was going to go aftermarket but couldnt find a bar/grip combonation that I liked.. My dealer had a new bar/grip set-up for a warrior for $200 so I used them the rise is alittle different but it was plug-in and go .. The heaters dont seem to be as good as the Nytro ones..
If you check on ebay there are some used sets from apex's though..
Good luck
