I have a 2011 standard apex that I thought handled pretty good until this weekend. My buddy has a 2006 apex, and I rode it for the first time, and what a mistake that was. That 2006 just blew me away at how good it handled. I wish I never got on it now. It corners flat, where as mine feels very tippy and constantly catching edges, and not confident inspiring at all. I know this has been beat to death, but is there a way to help my sled corner more flat, instead of tipping all the time. Basic setting are these. Limiter strap tightened up one above stock. Transfer rod at minimal setting. Rear shock at medium compression, front shocks are tightened just enough so the spring doesn't rattle with the front end off the ground. Woody's 6" duallies for carbides. Thanks

A few things you could do....Install a 13mm swaybar, tighten front ski shocks, pull up limiter strap on hole...lean :p

Buy a set of aggressive snowtrackers & set up your sled to their specs you will luv it....duallies suck & you are setting up your sled to make them work. Snow trackers are just the opposite they work so well you need to back off front end pressure & transfer so you don't over steer. Never seen an Apex rider that didn't like the ride after installing STs.

why don't you find out what your buddy did to his to have it handling the way you like. i'm sure he would help you set yours up. i'm betting he has the bigger sway bar like mentioned above, different skies or carbides and has had the shocks re-valved, limiter strap pulled up to add more weight to the front etc. etc etc

Ask Maim, I rode his when it was new and I felt the same things you did but I know he dialed it in after that.

Question- Are you studded? May have too much carbide up front, especially if you are not. Sounds like it may be biting in the corners a little too much for you, making it tippy. Maybe a little more front skid spring pressure to alleviate some ski pressure.

Me, I didn't like the Sno Trackers, and went back to tuners!

yes but was it the ride or turning on pavement that you didnt care for?

Ride and drive are the same with both, didn't like how they turned on pavement.

Take out your owners manual and put the front shocks spring preload back to stock and start there.

I disagree the way to make it less tippy and rail better is the way he has it add 13 mm sway bar and adjust rear skid is what i would advise.

You must do a lot of urban snowmobiling to care how they work on pavement! The Trackers work great for what they were designed for... snow and ice.

One thing to remember to is the 11 and newer Apex set's a little higher. X 2 on the SnowTracker's, they are the answer in my opinion! you just need to remember you will find your self cornering with more confidence which generally brings more speed. I have owned both Apex's and can't imagine going back to a pre 11.

For turning at gas stops.
