handling problem?

Well i jacked up the front and all the upper suspension bushing are shot.. they are the plastic OEM crap.. bought the new revised BRASS bushing... one side is so loose it has 3/4 of an inch play..

as for the star suspension , it seems like it's only a revalve/rebult thing.. no modified parts from the side seem to be like on the sled..

'ill will be doing this in a few hours.. and post pics on how the spring are ajusted on the sled. maybe someone can tell me if it's too high or low..

It's always good to check stuff over.
Same thing happened to my 08 model.
After 3000 miles I couldn't take one hand off the bars going down a road. Almost flipped it once adjusting my visor.
It was the plastic arm bushings and crappy lower ball joints Yamaha used back then.
Cheers

Here are the shocks on the sled..

anybody can tell me if the springs are well ajusted.. i know nothingabout those and have no reference to compare..

On this pic, the spanner ring is screwed up instead of down, and i fixed that, it was loose.. ;)

Well,

Are the pics clear enough to see the adjustements ??

and anybody can tel me if i have the full Star suspension kit?? i would think only the front..

On the front shocks those spanner nuts are supposed to be at the top like that , it locks the top of the shock to the body of the shock ;)!

And I'm thinking it just a revalve doesn't look like you got the whole kit in there , but maybe !

Look in the FAQ section, lots of talk about setup. I'm running the middle shock Like yours (full hard), I have pulled the limiters one hole. Set your clicker to the middle and adjust from there to preference. I cannot speak about the front shocks as mine are different but I'm seeing that you will take some of the preload out of them. If you read in this section you will see there are different reasons for slightly different set ups. Set it for the type of riding you do and then adjust from there. No one can tell you the perfect setup as there are too many variables (weight, style etc) just start in the middle of the road and adjust from there and ride ride ride!

This won't have anything to do with handling but you look like your missing a set of wheels from your skid pic.

Thanks guys,

I did pull the limiters one hole and the difference is night and day. it still needs a few adjustments but wow, now i can ride it and have some fun..

someone here with a nytro told me to get snowtrakers and better skis??
i don't what that would do...

also found while riding at -30 Celcius saturday that the heated grips aren'tvery hot.. so i filled the handle bar with some polyeurthan foam like i did on my quad.. it's better but not enough.

also needs a better windshiled..who makes a good aftermarket one ?

You have a crazy amount of preload on your center track shock. Mine (and most that I've seen) only have a few threads at most showing below the spanner nut. You've got inches and inches
!

First thing you should do is reduce the preload on that center shock as opposed to tightening the limiter strap. This will put more weight on the rear of the track and on the skis making the turning more aggressive. If you still need more bite then tighten the limiter strap.

ok how much thread should be showing on that preload from the bottom side ?? an inch ??

I'm all ears for good suggestions..

Not saying the previous posts are incorrect but everything I've read says to pull one hole and run the stock center shock full preload (at least for 200lb and up riders). These are the directions that come with the star suspension kit too.

O so we got a debate here...

full preload, or not.. pull one hole on limiters.. or not...
