I have a 2006 Apex ER. I've always thought that the seat was too hard and a little narrow, but just ignored it. I recently had the chance to ride my buddies 2007 Apex. His seat is totally different. It's slightly wider and way softer than mine. His wife has a 2008 Apex and her seat is comfortable also. Was there a seat change for 2007 on up and if so, can someone post on how to change it. My buddy is trading his in this year and said that we could swap seats if I wanted to. Sorry if this is a reposted topic, but I did try a search and couldn't find anything under "hard seat on Apex". Thanks guys. :rocks:

I hoped the seat on my 07 apex would have bin harder also. Might have to get it redone over the summer top firm it up some. Who does every one send there seats to redo?
Cheers,
Rick.

Sounds like they did change the seat firmness. All I can say is that everytime I go on a trip, my tailbone is sore by the third day. I will swap with my buddy when he trades his in. Need info on how to remove the seat on an Apex.

I have an 07 Attak GT. I agree with the comments that the seat is Too Soft. I think it is also Too Narrow. I like to ride right up un the tank and I am a 270# big boy. This is the first season I have owned the sled and I have only been on two trips approx. 1500 miles - Because of the extremely soft foam, the seat is wrinkled and material is stretched and wont return to smooth new look.

I rode my buddys Rev XP 800R - It has a nice firm, wide and comfortable seat.

I wish Yamaha would quit trying to make the seats narrow like a motocross bike. The reality is you sit more on a sled than a moto-X.

true, the seat is too soft and it does wrinkleon the 06-07 model's but can be fixed rather quickly, i have a leathersmith that is getting mine and tightening it ;)!

My 07 ER is too soft for me. Has anyone had one firmed up by a Quality shop? If so post the shops name. I e-mailed back and forth with Sargents Cycle last spring. They do very good work on cycle seats. I couldn't convince them that a sled seat is similar and they really didn't want to touch it.
