Any ideas why my 07 Apex starts hard when cold? It cranks over continuously and attempts to start, it takes me 3 times to cycle the key before it finally starts, once its running you can shut it off and restart without a problem but initially starting it for the first time each day no matter what temperature you have to continuously have to crank to get it started. Any ideas would be helpful thanks.

I have always wondered if an old fashioned primer pump would help with cold morning starts in the new sleds. Pump some fuel into the throttle bodies and it should start real good.

When it's cold, always cycle the key three times to prime the pump. Do this without actually turning the key all the way to activate the starter. This pretty much elimintated my cold start problem.

Tried plugs that wasn't it and this sled doesn't have a supercharger on it. Acts like its not getting enough fuel on start up could the torres switch or a bad sensor cause this?

Sled Dog - you would rather have a primer and pump that manually a few time adn risk flooding vs cycling the key a few times to ensure fuel is at the injectors?

In cold weather the primer pump worked great in the older sleds and I never flooded you learn how many pumps to use for it to start right away. Start with one or two then move up or down from there. Especially in -30C cold weather. Has someone tried to install a checkvalve to stop the fuel from draining this should not be happening. I dont cycle the key on our car and it starts right away.

The pump should cycle long enough to fill and prime any hoses that may need to be filled.

The first time I turn the key on my phazer after having the tank off the pump is running for much longer filling the hoses back up.

Could be the airbox temp sensor. Look in the manual and see what the resistance should be at certain temps. If that is out then it would be like trying to start without fuel enrichment which is required for cold start.
