I went out today for a good ride but I seem to have prob getting my rpm up.
The snow was about 16" of powder. It seemed that the sled would pull till about 6800rpm then it seemed like it was running on 2 cyl or the belt was slipping. Not sure it would almost feel like a vibration and popping sputter.
It would take a while but the revs would climb to 8200. On hard pack it will rev 8700 rpm.
Not sure if it a plug prob or something getting wet. Could it be a fuel issue? Is there something wrong with the secondary? There are 500 miles on the 09 Nitro xtx

This only happens when there is lots of powder

Might want to look at your air filter when this is happening. If snow gets sucked in, it could cut off air flow and would do exactly what you are describing.
I think your drivers are slipping causing ratcheting.

There is no slipping on hard pack though. It felt more like a vibration at 7200rpm and took a long time to reach 8300rpm. If I am sucking up snow as LazyBastard said into the filter, what is a possible fix

Did you check your track tension? I had a bad ratchet in the powder but on hard pack it was fine

Had the same problem today, wouldn't ratchet on the hard pack but it would in the deep stuff when I was wot. Tightened the track and all was good. The only thing is, you would hear and feel a skipping noise that automatically tells you to get out of it...atleast to me anyway.
