Hi I'm looking for a clutch kit for my phazer MTX 08, I see everyone raves about the ulmer kits but i'm not use to ordering things online. my local dealer is a hartman distributer and says his kits are good . If any if anyone is running one let me know how it is and how much. Thanks

Get the ulmer, you can call Allen, or email him... he is a great very helpful guy.

thanks for the ulmer nod I see you have a tunnel closer kit I'm thinking of making my OWN most mods have to be ordered and it's a pain in the but so would tou be a pal and take some measurements for me maybe a picture and anything i might not be thinking of like does it completely close the hole. thanks even you can't

just buy the excell kit.. its cheap and easy.. or buy his exhaust and he usually give a closer kit for free.. i really suck at measuring.

I had a local trailer manufacturer cut a piece of .062" alum. at 24.25 x 11.25 and if fits perfectly. It cost me about $11 plus $2 for hardware. It runs under my belt holder/toolkit and uses the front two bolts to hold it down along with 6 other stainless flat heads and nylocks through the tunnel. I left the front hole open. There is still some ice build up under the tunnel, but my feet are dry and nothing has overheated.

thanks for the reply rigidone the excell kit sounds good but I'm from newfoundland canada and getting the stuff proves difficult and it drives the cost up alot in shipping and I really think I can make this one.jeffz thanks for letting me know what you did I picked up 2x2 piece of aluminum but you lost me when mentioning you used the bolts under tool kit I was closing the hole under the seat if you clsed off something else to limit snow buildup let me know i'd like to try.

There are 4 bolts holding my stock tool/belt box on. The rear block off plate I had cut extended under the box, so I used the two front bolts PLUS 6 others along either side of the top of the tunnel to secure it. There is another smaller hole in the top of the tunnel further up that some people block off. I left mine open and don't have any problems.

thanks guys this forum rocks and so do all the guys i have come in contact with so far i'm just learning so much sorry if soime of the stuff is repetitive for you pros who have already dealt with this stuff but i am greatful and some of the advice i'm having trouble taking due to availability here in canada but i'm working on it.

Order the tunnel closer kit from Yamaha it includes all of the pieces (heat shields, etc) to update your sled to an 09+.

Hartman specializes in high elevation set up.Ulmer does both I would also recommend Ulmer racing. He does have a canadian distributer.
