has ~3500 km, last week took off belt deglazed it and acetoned the sheaves. Also sprayed some brake clean on the primary w/o taking it off. also added shims to the 3 bolts in the secondary to raise the belt in the secondary to spes. have not measured the width or length of the belt. Also have not taken apart the primary or secondary.
Problem is pretty much right after I adjusted the height of the belt in the secondary. it seems like the primarymakes a whiny sound at rest.
Was thinking a new belt will fix this. Will check the width and length of old belt. Could spraying the primary with brake clean cause this sound. As this was the only thing I did except add extre shims to the secondary( to a toal of about 2.5 mm for each belt.
Any thougths?

When the belt is to tight it will squeal at idle. They make thinner shims for the secondary. Raise the rear and see what the track does. You want it to just barely turn or be easy to turn by hand at idle. Anyway the squeal is no big deal just annoying.
