over the summer I've added some perf. parts to my sled and I'm not impressed with the outcome, I've added the Doo 9T extroverts, ECP with EVAC, HH weights and a whiteknuckle GP1 exhaust, when the sled was stock I was able to go 115mph down the lake on the dream meter but now with the mods I'm only able to see 105mph, I know the sprockets changed my gearing abit and the weights are dialed in pretty good I just don't know what's slowing me down

any ideas?

Kyle

Your speedo accuracy is out by ~12% because of the increase to the dia. of the drivers. Seems to me that you haven't lost anything -- maybe added 1 or 2 mph. Are you pulling 10.4k rpm?

Dage, have you been to the air intake forum on here? What you are describing is a pretty common initial problem with people and the ECP filters. The issues can most surely be worked through with a little patience.
There are several posts that discuss your issues. Basically, make sure your carbs are synched, your clutching has been tweaked to harness your added power and go to NGK CR10 EK spark plugs making sure you use dielectric compund. Run your sled in the dark and see if you are getting any arcing between the coils and the head.

Good luck

thanks for the tips guys

frosty, the sleds going in to get the carbs synched in about a week and I will be playing around with my clutching a little more when I get my roller secondary, I already have those plugs however I haven't checked to see if my coils are arching, I also plan on playing with my jetting a little more to see if I can squeeze a little more power out of it

I always read that these sleds like taller gearing, should I regear, I have 23/40 combo in the sled right now

What track are you running?

Your gearing sounds very high to me (1.74 ratio). If your sled is along track (and I assume it is) you should be in the 1.90 to 2.0 ratio range. The stock 21 x 40 might be about right.

When you keep gearing up your clutches keep doing what they are supposed to do and won't shift out as far as you'd like because they are trying to gear you down (through clutch ratios) to where they want you to be. Keep gearing down until you actually lose top end. Meanwhile your bottom end and midrange pull will improve greatly.

I have the 1 1/4 ripsaw on it right now and I mainly trail ride and use the sled for fishing so I'm looking for more top end then low end power
