This year will be my first year attending Hay Days and am not quite sure what to expect. From everyone I've talked to, they said it's awesome! So for right now I am putting summer on hold and focusing on the sled again.

2011 Yamaha Nytro XTX

The sled sits now as it does in this picture (minus a red snow flap I put on at the end of last season).

One thing I hope to find at Hay Days is a 144x1.75 Backcountry track for a decent price as well as a set of ice scratchers.

Anyone have any ideas on what else I should add to my list?

Expect lots of people -- it's always a large crowd there. It's also so big it's very difficult to see everything and visit all the vendors. And the swap meet area is insane in that it's also in a very large area and you can spend an entire morning there and not get very far. That being said, Hay Days is a blast and it's definitely the Official of sled season, as they claim.

Some advice: it's very easy to run out of $$ at hay days as a guy can burn through a lot of cash buying sled parts, so watch out for that. Another thing is be mindful how you plan to get all of your loot home, like in a truck, suv, van, whatever. Stuff can take up room fast. And you always find more stuff you need to have there, even if you didn't know you needed it. Between the vendors and the swap area, you can find anything sled related at Hay Days.

I'll look for you there. Hopefully TY will have a meet a greet Saturday.

Relocator, Oilite front end bushings, Excell bigger wheel kit, yamahaheater with boost, Roest Skid plate........Now I'm not sure if you will find all that stuff but its a start of a list :jump:

I'm hoping to make it this year! In my 22 years in MN I never went so now I'm hoping to fly back for it. :jump:

My money will be spent on airfare :o|

The Outlaw Grass Drags are on the weekend of 24 August. It's not quite as big as Hay Days, but there are usually better deals there.

Good Luck!

Hey Nuke, that looks like a good time over there in Princeton!

A Sled Head's wet dream! :-) The SWEET thing about the Outlaw Grass Drags is that it is put on by the NSRA which is a lot more laid back than the Snow Barron's at Hay Days. Last year we had a guy running a Volkswagen 4-cylinder in a vintage sled. That's why people come to Princeton. If it $hit's and Gets, then let'em race it! I used to race with the NSRA and REALLY miss it. I got tired of tuning my carbs with a screwdriver when the guy next to me was tuning his Fuel Injection with a laptop. Still gave'em a run for their money though. Finals race results in 2008 for 700 class was 1st place 2007 A/C F-7, 2nd place 2005 A/C F-7, 3rd 2000 Formula Z, 4th place 2007 A/C F-7. Guess who had the 2000 Formula Z? ;)! That's when I cashed it in, but walked away with a smile and a lot of looks. In lesser words, It's a GOOD TIME!

Borrow your kids wagon to get that track back to your vehicle. It can be a very long walk depending what time you get there.

Anyone new to Hayday's should get on the phone right away and try to reserve a room for the night! All rooms within a 30 mile radius will be taken if they're not already.

Steve it's in MN. It would be about 1400 kms for you. It would be a great road trip, but you guys have a pretty good sled show in TO, so not sure it's worth it for ya. I've been to both and each has it's charms. ;)!
