Haydays pics,of sidewinder with dx style windshield and mirrors built onto the shield like cat runs

I got frostbite in six fingers last year. I got the doo muffs and swear by them for warmth. If you ever get frostbite you will soon lose interest in what looks good

I have the Doo muffs too for when it gets single digits. I tried the clear Doo hand guards last year, but then it's a pain if I want to put the muffs on, and I prefer a cleaner look w/o the hand guards. So hoping the new Sport Mid will be the ticket for me. Only one way to know.
My DOO muffs fit perfectly behind any hand guards....I have not ridden a sled without hand guards since 06. If I do, my hands freeze fast. Plus I have my mirrors on them. Feels odd riding a sled without the guards and mirrors there.

I never tried that, will have to now. And yeah, the mirrors on those hand guards are very nice.

Im going to try the cat procross guards on my SW.....Im going to do a custom mounting of a BRP mirror(small ones I like) and I want the LED lights.

I was really close to going with Sentinels, but I just dont like their mounts really.... I have run powermadds for many many yrs on several sleds, and they still use the same mount brackets with the cheesy long bolt and plastic spacers to adjust their left/right location. Just looks so tacky, and that was fine in 06 but after having the nice DOO guards, with their nice looking mounts. I looked into the procross guards and they look really nice. Similar looking brackets as the doos have, and LED kit built into them.

The mounts on the Doo guards are quality and well designed for sure. Problem I had was with the Hayes brake reservoir. To use the Doo mount on the brake side I had to move the brake over so far it wasn't easy to grab, otherwise on the other side of the reservoir the guard is too far inboard. My solution (and I'm no fabricator) was to get the PowerMadd Hayes mount and adapt it to the Doo guard.

Oh cool, so what you are talking about is the clear BRP stock hand gaurds on a SW? I was just talking bout the muffs from doo with clear view window.

The cat procross have similar mounts to the doos, but longer reach... I saw them on some new cats last winter and thought they looked really hi quality....Powermadds are abit busy for my taste these days.

Yeah, I have the Doo muffs too, love them. Which is why I would prefer to not have the hand guards - so I can easily put the muffs on when it gets real cold. Which is back to why I'm looking for a lowish window that protects my hands. This will be my 5th windshield if/when I get it. Here's what I mean about the guards and the Hayes brake.

BTW - if anyone knows a good way to cover up the "Ski Doo" logo on the muffs I'm all ears. A Sharpie was my temp solve last year. I should probably go to fabric store and find something I can cut out and glue over the show front.

Cool....yeah the hayes brake is tough to get around. I wonder if the cat procross mounts would mount up to doo guards as they look similar. I like the doo guards alot.

I only have run my muffs one or two days in past two winters, as the grip gloves with heaters are that good. With the guards there, they cover the muffs logo pretty good.

Im gonna make some graphics to cover the cat logo on my guards..lol

Also swapping up to NEW linQ bags that now say LinQ only on them...nice.

What does the logo side look like? Maybe router or mill it out...if it engraved.

This is a viper windshield I use. It's a nice rigid shield.

But below -15 c it's too cold and I go back to the stock old man shield

I tried that one too. Gave me plenty of coverage on my chest but I needed the hand guards or muffs with it. I must have a medical condition of some kind, I've never had frostbite but maybe frost nip? - My hands are very often cold (even indoors) and they get cold and hurt very easy. Riding with the Doo muffs was perfect - but on milder days on just want a normal looking windshield to keep the wind off of them.

Dan - I'll give your thin glove thing a try this year too.

Do the Cat Handguards with the LED'S come with an on/off Switch like the Powermadd's do?? I'd like to be able to turn them off and on when I want. Instead of just having them always on. I like the look of the Cat ones too. And they look well made as well.
No, they do not have an on/off switch. The plug direct into a factory harness. So they turn on/off as the sled is on/off. But I don't see why you couldn't wire them direct to a power source (aka battery) and install your own switch.
