Hey there guys, what are most guys using to bolt their turbo to their header? Welding studs on the header or grade 8 bolts, should a guy go stainless or not? I know starting the 2 nuts are a pain but just looking for options. Thanx

Grade 8 bolts with lock washers..

I run Security wires thru all bolts, double wire.
Drilled holes in all 8 header bolts.
Wired so that the wire will get tighter if the bolt rotates, none have come off since.

Header fasteners

If the header flanges are stainless then you should use stainless bolts, studs etc.
Install Norlock washers and then it will not come loose as we have done this for years.

Lockwire! There's a reason its used in aviation. Keeps aircraft from falling out of the sky. Stage 8s rattled for me. Stopped using them.

Lockwire, thanks.
Exactly why I run lockwire, my friend is an inflight mechanic for the Norwegian S&R team flying the WestLand SeaKing.
He recommends using it for the reason Mountaintech just stated :-)
