Both the headlight bulbs fell out of my 06 Grizzly. They are both in the bottom of the lens and reflector. Has anyone ever had this happen to their quad? Any suggestions as to getting them out?
I am in Az and I called the mechanic at home and he said that if you run with the light switch between hi and lo that the light will get hot enough to melt the soder and the bulb can fall out. Now I know how to prevent it from happening again but I need an easy way to retrieve the old bulbs. Any suggestions?

lost both bulbs at the same time on mine too,5 minutes apart, like mr sled said, stand it up and you should be able to get them out, apperently the bulbs get really hot and the weld lets go after a while, this is what my dealer told me,you should turn youre lights off during the day to save the bulbs, that's what i did and never had another one fall off, check the screw that holds the fuel reserve knob too, they loosen up after a while

Thanks for the replys . The dealer here had to order the bulbs, it is a large dealership and they never seem to have anything in stock. Tuesday they will be here and I'll get them changed. It is dusty here in the desert and we keep the lights on so we can keep track of the guy behind us in the mirror. From now on I will just use low beam so they won't get as hot. I guess a couple of light bulbs is a small price for having over 3000 miles of thrashing the machine through lots of rocks.

I almost forgot to mention that the dealer had never heard of this happening and wanted $100 plus the parts to change the bulbs. I told him he would get $100 from me when hell freezes over. It was 88* that day.

Pat, just make sure that you don't get the switch stuck between hi and lo. That is what causes both elements to light up and then the solder melts. The darn bulbs cost me $38 for both here in Az. I will put them in this weekend.

Final update on the headlights. I used a wad of duct tape on the end of a pencil to fish out the loose bulbs. It was a lot easier than standing the quad on it's tail.
So now everything is back to normal except my wallet. The bulbs must be gold plated.

$10 each would be a bargain. The dealer in Parker Az charged me $38 and change for the two of them.
I just want to point out what a helpful site this is. Post a problem and you get lots of good info. This site
