I'm trying to get the heat shield off that goes around the muffler on my 2010 Nytro not having much luck. Can anyone help?

If you are talking about the shield under the seat with the rubber plugs in it. You have to remove the plugs and loosen the muffler clamp (front one) and remove the other two bolts. They secure the muffler to the shield, which is also a support. The muffler will then slip out the rear and you can remove the shield.

Take the shield AND the muffler off at the same time.
The inner bracket for the muffler gets hung up on where it is mounted to the shield. When I had mine off, the muffler just did not want to come out by itself, even after taking every mount bolt off. The rubber washers the mount bolts go through on the inside were stuck on the mount surface.

I took the heat shield alone and that was def a pain. I just tried removing the springs from my header to muffler and slidding off the heat shield witht he muffler but its on there tight! Whats the best weight to get the muffler apart formthe header withouth damagin anything. I dont just want to pull like he**. this is on an excell

I'm just trying to do it an easier way. To clarify my heat shield is still mounted to the muffler.
