HEY THERE. I,M A NEWBIE TO BEING A MEMBER BUT I,VE BEEN WATCHING THIS SITE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME. ALL THE INFO I GATHERED HAS HELPED PUT ME IN FRONT OF THOSE GREEN THINGS AND YELLOW NOISE MAKERS. HOWEVER, I,M GETTING OLDER AND REQUIRE A FEW COMFORTS AS WELL. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF INSTALLING A HEATED SEAT ON MY RX1 AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS TRIED THIS AND IF SO,DID YOU RUN INTO ANY PROBLEMS. THANKS FOR THE INFO

I don't have the heated seat, but I have used the Gerbing Heated Jacket for 3 seasons on my 04 Warrior with no problems and some nice warmth especially on those real cold days On one day the high temperature for the day was -11
This year I'm adding the Heated Pants and Socks Here is some testing that I've done FYI:
I have put a meter on the charging system to test the draw when using Gerbing's Electric Heated Clothing, and once your flashing light goes out for the electric carb heaters (about one minute) the meter is reading 14.40 volts DC, and then I turn the jacket on full to check the draw and it shows 14.28, I then hook up the gloves and it shows 14.22, the pants 14.16, the socks 14.12
So once your electric carb heaters shut down, the electrical system will handle the whole suit without a problem. :exc:

HEY BOB. YEAH THAT JACKET SONDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA TOO. THE DAYTIME IS NOT TO BAD, BUT MY FRIENDS AND I WILL DRIVE ALL DAY AND INTO THE LATE HOURS OF THE NIGHT LIKE TWO OR THREE AND BY THIS TIME YOU START TO GET CHILLED AND FATIGUED AND SO I AM HOPING THIS HELPS OUT. OUR SEASON IS SO SHORT, YOU HATE TO GIVE UP ANY TIME NO MATER HOW COLD IT IS. THE SEAT HEATER IS OUT OF A FORD VEHICLE AND DRAWS VERY LITTLE CURRENT. A SWITCH ON THE DASH TURNS IT ON AND OF ,AS WELL AS AN IDIOT LIGHT TO MAKE SURE I DON,T LEAVE IT ON AND KILL THE BATTERY.

Make sure you have water proof pants cause with a seat heater I would think you are going to see a pretty wet seat.

I put a heated seat on my wifes sled a few years ago. It worked really well but waterproof bibs are a must and the heater pad made the seat noticeably stiffer.

I,LL TRY AND TAKE A FEW PICS THIS WEEKEND AND POST THEM. AS FOR A WET SEAT, THIS IS A VERY STRONG POSSIBILITY IF YOU HAVE IT ON WHEN IT IS SNOWING BUT I DON,T THINK IT WILL BE TO BAD WHEN IT IS JUST FREEZING COLD OUT. ( I HOPE )
