was wondering the best spot to tap into for power to install heated visor plug? really dont want to run to battery cause have hids on posts already, was going to tap into cig lighter outlet but do u think it would be to much drawing on circuit while using gps in outlet also?i could put slightly larger fuse in but it dont sound right to do that! have seen posts about running to jumper cables on right side but dont really like that either, easiet is to tap into lighter outlet as long as no overload!! thanks

Tap into the accessory outlet and put a 5 amp fuse. It will be OK, had a 5 amp in mine since year 1.

I too have HID's run to the battery. I also have a 7" Garmin, LED Driving lights, 3-400 colored LED's, & a heated shield-- ALL of it is connected directly to the battery (fused on + lines). There are no issues or problems in over 2,000 miles this year. Previous 2006 sled had all the same stuff with a new battery installed in 2010. That battery is still fine today (my son now owns that sled with almost 24,000 miles).

3-400 leds?
I wanted an unswitched visor plug, so I went for the battery. Leads were too short, so I used the terminals on the starter relay. Works great, lots to ty-rap the wires to.

Yes 3-400 LED's, most of them are in strips. Not the best pictures but you can get an idea...

Yea, my 32 year old son says when he's following me sometimes it looks like a sled coming towards him because it's so bright. I'm adding a few more this summer.

I Have a 06 Apex and I installed it next to gas tank above fan motor you have a open connecter with a dummy cap
that runs off the motor. I removed the plugs and installed wires have had no problems. You will have to remove plastics to get to it but it will be clean when finished and you don't have to tap into any other wires.
